Tool Kit
The toolkit is designed on the basis of the outcomes of the preliminary analysis and the focus groups carried out in schools. It will help teachers educating students about discrimination of immigrant people over digital media, and respectful online behaviour, also keeping a gender approach.
The training materials will be in the form of text, powerpoint presentations, Prezi animations, Animated video tutorials, Interactive PDF e-book; Fiches for group works and exercises.
For ease of access, user-friendliness in the use will be the guiding principle to build the toolkit in order to maximise impact on the users.
The toolkit will cover six training modules. The main core topics and content addressed will be defined during the co-creation path, but the foreseen points are:
- Migration: characteristics and dynamics of migration, with a focus on gender issues
- From research results on digital space and social media to action: tips and examples ( ie: creating a page, responses to bullying, reporting hate crime)
- Journalism: relevance of the source-check and how information on new media is produced and multiplied and Participatory Journalism: How to make an interview, elaborate an article, tips on the use of shooting and framing for video-interviews
- Hands on: Meeting with a journalist to prepare the interview with a migrant woman
- Hands on: Interview with a migrant woman
- Reflection of the interview: Post-production, and discussion on the social media channels to convey it and potential reactions on social media and virtual environments.
The topics identified above are indicative and will be further developed, expanded, elaborated following the results of the Needs analysis and of the focus groups, that will provide more punctual indications.
